Koupla: The Public Prosecutor’s Office of the High Court of Koup©la convened a meeting on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Koup©la to inform local transporters about the measures addressing the illicit trafficking of children under 18, the circulation of uninsured vehicles and tricycles, unlicensed driving, and the transport of prohibited goods.
According to Burkina Information Agency, transporters, drivers, bus station managers, and members of the transport union participated in the awareness session. El Hadj Salfo Ou©draogo from the Pouytenga Transporters’ Union stressed the importance of this forum, highlighting its benefits for transporters in their daily operations.
Ou©draogo urged attendees to disseminate the information shared by the Public Prosecutor’s Office to ensure compliance with the law. He also called for regular updates from the Prosecutor’s Office to help transporters adhere to regulations.
Ousmane Tiendreb©ogo, deputy prosecutor at the High Court of Koup©la, noted the increasing frequency of child trafficking and the critical role transporters play in addressing this issue. He emphasized the need for awareness to tackle these challenges effectively.
Bertrand Bougnan, another deputy prosecutor at the Koup©la High Court, appealed to the public, particularly transporters, to adhere strictly to the implemented measures to prevent such incidents.
