Kourouma Reforestation Initiative Sees 250 Trees Planted

Kenedougou: The municipality of Kourouma commemorated the 8th edition of the National Tree Day belatedly on Saturday, July 4, through a reforestation operation that led to the planting of 250 seedlings on a site prepared by the environmental service.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the head of the environmental service in Kourouma, Water and Forestry Controller Harouna Sawadogo, highlighted the importance of trees for communities. He encouraged the community to foster a sense of solidarity and responsibility toward nature. Sawadogo emphasized the importance of planting trees thoughtfully, ensuring their maintenance and monitoring to sustainably contribute to environmental preservation and humanity's well-being.

Zoumana Ouattara, the first vice-president of the Special Delegation of Kourouma, praised the participants' mobilization and reiterated the municipal authorities' commitment to restoring the vegetation cover. He urged the community to integrate green spaces into their daily lives to provide a healthy and sustainable environment for future generations. The event saw participation from local authorities, technical services, and residents who supported this environmental initiative.
