Kourittenga: The parish of Our Lady of Graces in Koup©la hosted a mass wedding ceremony for 140 couples on Saturday, April 26, 2025, in celebration of the 125th anniversary of the Catholic Church’s evangelization efforts. The event was officiated by the parish priest, Father Pascal Tougma, alongside Father C©sar Guigemd©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony highlighted the significance of regularizing marital unions in the Christian faith. Jean-Luc Lankoand©, one of the newly married individuals, expressed joy at the occasion, stating that formalizing his marriage on the day of this significant celebration was a profound experience.
Father Pascal Tougma emphasized the spiritual importance of Christian marriage, describing it as a sacred union in Christ and the Church. He explained that marriage is the alliance between a man and a woman to form a couple and start a family, underlining the sacred commitments made during the ceremony.
Father Tougma advised the couples to remain steadfast in their commitment, urging them to live their vows daily and to avoid separation in the face of challenges. “They must live their love every day. Hold fast to the promises you made to each other,” he counseled the newlyweds.
