Kourittenga/ENABEL: An Evening to Strengthen the Bonds of Friendship.

Koupéla: The Belgian Development Agency organized a friendship evening on Saturday, November 23, 2024, in Koupéla, as part of the initiative “A week with Enabel in the Center-East”, to strengthen ties for sustainable development in the Center-East in the presence of the High Commissioner of the Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo. The event brought together authorities from the Center-East region and partners under the blessing of His Majesty Naaba Yemdé of Koupéla.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Project Manager for the bilateral cooperation programme between Belgium and Burkina Faso, representative of Enabel in Koupéla, Adama Kaboré, expressed the gratitude of the Belgian Development Agency to its partners for their support and commitment. Kaboré emphasized the inspiration drawn from the presence of partners, which motivates the Enabel team to serve the Centre-Est region better and identify effective actions for its development.

Enabel remains a key player in development, continuing its coll
aboration with local authorities and communities to complete projects in its 2019-2023 and 2023-2027 portfolios. This collaboration aims to improve living conditions for vulnerable populations and maintain social cohesion as a core activity.

The High Commissioner of the Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo, representing the governor of the Centre-East region, acknowledged Enabel’s significant contribution to the region’s development. Ilboudo noted that cooperation between Belgium and Burkina Faso through the projects has enhanced socio-economic development, improved access to basic social services, and promoted social cohesion among vulnerable populations.

Additionally, Moctar Ilboudo conveyed the gratitude of the governor and the Burkinabe government to Enabel for its efforts in the Centre-East. The evening concluded with the presentation of prizes to winners of a radio game organized as part of the ‘a week with Enabel in the Centre-East’ initiative.
