Koup©la Prepares for National Launch of Mandatory Patriotic Immersion 2026

Ouagadougou: The national organizing committee, the regional committee, and the steering committee of the Mandatory Patriotic Immersion (IPO) program held a preparatory meeting on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in Koup©la, Kourittenga Province. This strategic meeting aimed to finalize preparations for the official national launch of the second edition of the IPO.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the discussions focused on the program of activities, the different sites to accommodate the conscripts, the logistical aspects as well as the equipment necessary for the smooth running of this national initiative. The governor of the Nakamb© region, Abraham Yiy© Sondo, welcomed the participants before praising the choice of his region to host the national launch of this second edition.

'It is an honor for the Nakamb© region to host the national launch of the second edition of the Mandatory Patriotic Immersion. We will do everything possible, with all stakeholders, to ensure that this activity takes place under the best conditions,' he stated. The governor invited each member of the committees to demonstrate commitment and responsibility for the success of this mission because, according to him, this is the confirmation edition.

A technical communication was then presented by the provincial director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training of Kourittenga, Dieudonn© Belemssigri. He provided clarification on the practical organization of the immersion, the responsibilities of the various actors as well as the equipment essential for the smooth running of the activities.

The national chairman of the organizing committee for the mandatory patriotic immersion, Colonel Daba Naon, praised the commitment of the various partners and thanked all those who contributed to the success of the first edition. He also called on the people to support this patriotic initiative.

'The achievements of the first edition encourage us to go even further. The mandatory patriotic immersion is a school of civic responsibility, discipline and love of country. I call on all Burkinabe to support this initiative which contributes to the training of responsible citizens committed to the development of our country,' said Colonel Naon.

The participants toured the various sites selected to host the activities of the mandatory Patriotic Immersion. The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to His Majesty Naaba Yemd©, the Kourit-Yir-Soab, who expressed his satisfaction at seeing Koup©la host such an important event. 'Citizenship and patriotism education is a collective responsibility. We welcome this initiative from the highest authorities and hope that all conscripts experience this immersion with seriousness, discipline and love for the Burkinab¨ nation. May this edition be a complete success,' he said.

Given the importance of the activity, administrative authorities, heads of technical services, members of the various organizing committees as well as several prominent figures took part in this preparatory meeting. At the end of this meeting, the organizers confirmed that the official national launch of the second edition of the Mandatory Patriotic Immersion will be held in Koup©la, in the province of Kourittenga, region of Nakamb©, thus marking an important step in the promotion of the values ??of patriotism, discipline and citizenship in Burkina Faso.
