Koup©la Health District Celebrates Day of Excellence with Awards Ceremony

Koup©la: The High Commissioner of the Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo, presided over the award ceremony for exemplary health workers, care units, and facilities during the third edition of the Koup©la health district’s Day of Excellence. The event was held at the Koup©la Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA).



According to Burkina Information Agency, the Nakalbo Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) was honored as the best health facility, receiving the top award along with a financial prize of 100,000 CFA francs. The same center also secured the first prize in reproductive health, the Expanded Immunization Program, and third prize in epidemiological surveillance.



Hyacinthe Coulibaly, Major of Nakalbo CSPS, expressed appreciation for the award and acknowledged the responsibility that comes with such recognition. More than ten health centers were acknowledged for their efforts.



The CSPS of Sampaongho in Gounghin was awarded the second prize for best health training and received 75,000 CFA francs, in addition to other category awards. The ophthalmology department at the Koup©la CMA received the first prize for best CMA unit for the second year in a row. A special prize for infection prevention and control went to the CMA maternity ward, accompanied by a certificate of merit and 25,000 CFA francs.



The Koup©la Urban CSPS won the nutrition category, securing 50,000 CFA francs, while the CSPS of Z©gu©d©ga in Dialgaye received the first prize for malaria, also with a financial reward of 50,000 CFA francs. Ligdi-Malguem CSPS excelled in the Triple Elimination of HIV/Hepatitis/Syphilis and epidemiological surveillance categories, each bringing in 50,000 CFA francs.



Gounghin’s CSPS took home four prizes, including two special awards. Recognition certificates were distributed to healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical depots, partners, media, and others supporting the Koup©la health district. A posthumous award honored the late J©r´me Thiamobiga for his contributions to public health.



The Koup©la Health District presented a check worth 1,000,000 CFA francs to the Patriotic Support Fund. Dr. Cheick Omar Sawadogo, Chief Medical Officer of the district, highlighted the event’s purpose to recognize and promote the achievements of health workers and facilities.



The High Commissioner praised the district’s initiative and encouraged continued community involvement in the health district’s operations.
