Koup©la: The population of Koup©la actively participated in a major sanitation operation at the Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA) as part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation. The initiative aimed to ensure a healthier environment for the patients and staff of the health facility.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, which took place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, marked the first phase of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation for the year. It saw a large-scale mobilization across the provincial territory of Kourittenga, with residents coming together to clean the CMA using various tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, and machetes.
District Chief Medical Officer Cheick Omar Sawadogo highlighted the importance of sanitation in health infrastructures. He emphasized that the activity would significantly improve the health of patients and reduce contamination risks. Sawadogo expressed gratitude to the authorities for the initiative and encouraged those accompanying patients to use designated bins for waste disposal to maintain cleanliness.
Taiibatou Wendyam Sana, president of the Association of Girls and Women Leaders of Tomorrow in Koup©la, praised the population's mobilization and urged them to extend such initiatives to other activities in their communities. She expressed hope for a cleaner and better Burkina Faso through collective efforts.
High Commissioner of Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo, noted that the sanitation activity was a government initiative designed to encourage citizens to contribute to the nation's well-being through beneficial works. He urged the people to maintain a patriotic spirit in their daily lives.
