Koupéla - The Kourittenga province celebrated the conclusion of the second edition of the training on local dishes in Koupéla on Saturday, under the leadership of the province's secretary general, Moctar Ilboudo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, organized by the Association for the Promotion of Local Dishes of Koupela, was significant as it aligned with government efforts to preserve local culinary traditions. Participants, including Florencia Angela Kaboré, acquired skills in preparing traditional dishes such as birba, zimzindo, gonré, and porridge. Kaboré expressed gratitude towards the trainers, noting her eagerness to apply her new skills at family events and other ceremonies.
The training also highlighted the cultural importance of local cuisine. Adja Diabaté/Bikienga emphasized the training's impact on the younger generation's appreciation of regional culinary arts and values.
Sylvie Kéré/Kaboré, president of the association, acknowledged the support from provincial authorities and various partners, which she claimed was crucial for the program's success and would inspire future efforts to engage the community in cultural preservation.
The secretary general reiterated the association's role in keeping the youth and culinary enthusiasts engaged and praised their initiative in promoting regional gastronomy.
