Koulse/Public Conference: The CN-CES Mobilizes the Vital Forces in Kaya

Kaya: Basolma Bazie, President of the National Commission of the Confederation of Sahel States (CN-CES), led a regional conference on the establishment of the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) in Kaya on October 25, 2025. This information and mobilization forum around the institution’s missions brought together the key players in the Koulse region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, as part of a series of tours across the country, this meeting aimed, according to Mr. Bazie, to bring the institution closer to the population and to strengthen citizen ownership of the AES project, supported by the heads of state of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.

This conference, lasting more than four hours, provided an opportunity to present the CN-CES, to unveil its eight missions based around the three major axes of the AES: diplomacy, defense, and development, as well as to take stock of the achievements while gathering the concerns of local stakeholders.

In his introductory message, the President of the CN-CES recalled the history of colonization and highlighted the challenges of the struggle for sovereignty of the AES member countries. He called for increased mobilization and collective commitment to the ideals of the Confederation.

The various speakers, following Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ouedraogo, Governor of the Koulse region, welcomed the CN-CES initiative and expressed their full support for the shared aspirations of the peoples of the Sahel. All the concerns raised received satisfactory responses.

The Kaya meeting was held after those organized in Ziniare and Dori, thus continuing the national dynamic of popularizing the confederal project.
