Koulplogo Women Reflect on Role in Peacebuilding During International Women’s Day Conference

Koulplogo: Women from the province of Koulplogo gathered on Sunday for a significant conference held in observance of International Women's Day, aimed at reflecting on their contributions to peacebuilding and enhancing social cohesion.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was inaugurated by Patind Zoungrana, the Secretary General of Koulplogo Province, who urged attendees to deeply consider the theme: "Building Lasting Peace: What Roles for Women and Girls in Harmonious Coexistence?" Zoungrana also delivered a message from the Minister of Family and National Solidarity, emphasizing the critical role women play in fostering peace.

Zombr Soul Cline, the provincial coordinator for women, expressed gratitude for the strong participation of women in activities since March 5th. She highlighted that this involvement signifies the women's commitment to empowerment and community development. Ms. Zombr underscored that International Women's Day should be a moment for reflecting on women's rights and responsibilities, rather than merely a celebratory occasion. She also thanked administrative authorities and partners for their support in the event's success.

The conference facilitated enriching discussions on the role of women and girls in consolidating peace and fostering harmonious living. The day's events concluded with a football match, where the women's team triumphed over the men's team with a score of four to two, capping off the day in a spirit of camaraderie.

The celebration of International Women's Day in Koulplogo began with activities on March 5 and 6, including the cleaning of public spaces, highlighting women's dedication to improving their community's living environment.
