Koulp©logo: The High Commissioner of the Koulp©logo province, Sadou Ou©draogo, announced a new malaria prevention campaign set to take place from August 21 to 24, 2025, throughout the provincial territory. This effort marks the second round of Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the campaign will also focus on screening for malnutrition, catch-up vaccination for "zero dose" and insufficiently vaccinated children, and the elimination of larval breeding sites. The initiative targets children aged 3 to 59 months for the malaria chemoprevention, and those aged 6 to 59 months will undergo malnutrition screening.
The press release indicates that teams of community distributors will visit neighborhoods, markets, sites for internally displaced people, villages, and farming hamlets to administer medicines and eliminate mosquito breeding grounds. The High Commissioner urged the population to warmly welcome the teams and called for widespread participation to ensure the campaign's success.
