Ouagadougou: The Departmental Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (CODESUR) of Soudougui initiated a large-scale operation on June 6, 2026, to distribute 122 tons of food to 2,035 vulnerable households, along with equipment to support income-generating activities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation, led by Nebgniga Oudraogo, the prefect of the department and president of CODESUR, includes the distribution of 122 tons of food, 75 five-liter cans of oil, 50 cartons of pasta, 20 cartons of sugar, 20 cartons of sardines, as well as infant flour.

Beyond food supplies, beneficiaries will receive recovery equipment, including 10 carts, 10 wheelbarrows, and watering and feeding troughs aimed at facilitating the resumption of income-generating activities.

Comrade Oudraogo praised the efforts of the National Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (CONASUR) in Soudougui, noting that these government initiatives are designed to bolster the resilience of households dealing with socio-economic and humanitarian challenges.

Community liaison Tidiane Serdbogo highlighted that a monitoring system has been established with the Provincial Directorate of Family Affairs to ensure a transparent and fair distribution of food and equipment.

Kiemkodogo Kalidiatou, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the aid, viewing it as timely support that will enhance the living conditions of the households involved and help revive certain activities.

The distribution operations, which began last May, are gradually concluding in the commune of Soudougui.
