Ouargaye, December 3, 2023 (AIB) – Primary and secondary school teachers in Koulpelogo who have not yet resumed their duties are required to return to their posts by Monday, December 4, 2023. This directive follows the improved security situation and the reopening of numerous schools in the region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial authorities emphasized the urgency of the situation, warning of administrative sanctions for those who fail to comply. The Provincial Director in charge of preschool, primary, and non-formal education, Alexis Kiema, along with Hamadou Gassamé, overseeing primary and secondary education, issued press releases with a similar message.
The releases noted that despite the reopening of many schools due to better security in Koulpelogo province, some teachers remain absent from their posts. The officials praised those who have been present since the beginning of the administrative year for their patriotism, dedication, and resilience.
However, they expressed concern over the slow return of staff, particularly in areas where other primary schools and health centers have resumed operations. Despite repeated communications, the response has been limited. The directive requires all absent school staff to return to their duties by the specified date to ensure the continuation of educational activities.
Following the deadline, a formal notice procedure will be initiated against non-compliant individuals, with corresponding consequences. District heads and school leaders are tasked with compiling a list of absent staff and submitting it by Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
The directive stresses the importance of adherence to these instructions for the effective resumption of educational services in the region.
