Kouka Commune Launches Free Plowing Initiative to Boost Agriculture

BANWA — The commune of Kouka, located in the Banwa province, has initiated a free plowing campaign to aid local farmers in cultivating their lands, as announced by Raymond Ilboudo, president of the Special Delegation of Kouka. This agricultural support comes as part of the region’s broader agri-food strategy.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative launched yesterday aims to assist residents who lack the means to prepare their fields for planting. The ceremony marking the beginning of the operation took place in the village of Diontala along the Kouka Koundougou axis, attended by several municipal leaders. This development is especially timely, given the recent rainfall in Kouka, contrasting with the dry conditions in nearby Solenzo town, which has not seen rain for over a week.
