Koudougou: The GUES YIIGA Festival Celebrates the Merit of Women and Social Cohesion

Koudougou: The GUES YIIGA festival held its 4th edition from Friday, April 25 to Sunday, April 27, 2025, to promote women’s merit and advocate for a fairer and more united future. The opening ceremony took place this Friday at Koudougou Town Hall around the theme “Women fighters for social cohesion: building connections, building the future.”



According to Burkina Information Agency, Eva Sana/Yameogo, president of the organizing committee, recalled the association’s mission: to raise women’s voices, encourage their resilience, and defend their rights. In the context of a security crisis, she highlighted the necessity of social cohesion and the significant impact when women take a stand, leading to national progress.



Yannick Badolo, CEO of Ramonwend© Hotel and patron of this edition, praised the celebration of feminine dignity and courage. He emphasized the role of women as guardians of values, connectors, and educators in promoting social cohesion, describing it as a fragile flame that requires everyone’s commitment.



Jonas Man©, President of the Special Delegation of Koudougou, expressed that the event celebrates and promotes women, acknowledging them as the pillars of families, foundations of societies, and agents of peace. He welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed the municipality’s support for actions favoring women’s empowerment and social cohesion.



The 4th edition featured reflections and activities, including a discussion panel, recreational area, and shows in sector 10 of Koudougou. The event aims to be a space for promoting female merit and advocating for a fairer and more united future.
