Koudougou: In a surge of patriotism and solidarity, residents of the Bourkina neighborhood in Koudougou made a significant contribution to the presidential initiative "Faso-Mebo" on Wednesday, December 17. Under the leadership of Naaba Baongo, the traditional chief of the Bourkina neighborhood, the community put their words into action by donating construction materials and physically participating in the Faso Mebo construction work.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the neighborhood's contribution, the result of a community collection, consisted of four tons of cement, sixty-four tons of sand, and two 20-liter containers of oil. Beyond this donation of materials, the residents were eager to get involved by directly participating in the paving, thus illustrating the spirit of the Faso-Mebo initiative.
For Naaba Baongo, this mobilization is a natural historical and social imperative. He proudly recalled that the country shares its name with their neighborhood, imposing a duty to set an example. "In the Bourkina neighborhood, we consulted with one another, and the agreement was unanimous. All the communities living here, now united like brothers and sisters, contributed according to their means. It is the result of this solidarity that we are presenting today."
The handover ceremony, marked by strong civic enthusiasm, highlighted the population's commitment to the ideals of collective responsibility championed by the country's authorities. By getting involved in local infrastructure projects, the residents of Bourkina reaffirm their determination to build a sovereign and prosperous Burkina Faso through homegrown effort.
