Koudougou: Municipal Police Arrest Two Suspected Traffickers and Rescue Four Miners Destined for Gold Panning

Ouagadougou: The municipal police of the city of Koudougou intercepted on Thursday two individuals involved in a child trafficking network. Vigilance and citizen collaboration continue to bear fruit in Koudougou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the alleged traffickers were attempting to smuggle four teenagers, aged 14 to 16, through the Red Rider City. These young people, lured by false promises, were in reality on their way to a neighboring country to be exploited in gold mining sites.

Thanks to the rapid intervention of municipal police officers, the two alleged culprits were apprehended and will now have to answer for their actions before the courts. As for the victims, they will be taken care of by the competent child protection services, which will ensure their safe return to their families.

The Koudougou municipal police welcomed the commitment of the population, whose cooperation was crucial in these arrests. It urged parents to be extra vigilant in the face of this persistent scourge and to actively participate in protecting their children.
