Nouna: The governor of the Boucle du Mouhoun region, Babo Pierre Bassinga, met with the key players in the Kossi province to discuss their concerns. The meeting took place on Monday, May 12, 2025, in Nouna, where the province's driving forces gathered to express their issues and challenges.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the governor's visit was a part of his initiative to listen to the concerns of the population within his administrative jurisdiction and report them to the appropriate authorities. During the meeting, representatives including S©raphin Simboro, Marie Yelkouni, and Adama Dao highlighted several difficulties, particularly in the health and agricultural sectors, as well as the incompleteness of infrastructure.
Among the most pressing concerns were the rehabilitation of national road 14, the return of public services such as tax and financial control, and the reopening of the Only Bank (Ecobank) and the credit union. Additionally, issues like the unfinished provincial stadium, maternity ward, and non-functional radiology department were also addressed.
The meeting also brought up long-standing grievances such as the construction of an agricultural dam, known as the Kamadena dam, which has been a topic of discussion but never realized. S©raphin Simboro emphasized the need for a sesame processing unit to support local agriculture.
Governor Bassinga noted the deficient infrastructure during his visit and committed to addressing these concerns promptly with the relevant authorities. His visit also included participating in a flag-raising ceremony at the Nouna Provincial High School and planting trees to commemorate his presence in Nouna.
