Kossi: The NGO CARE provides agricultural equipment and small ruminants to 250 vulnerable households in Nouna. The High Commissioner of Kossi Province, Noufo Demb©l©, and the president of the special delegation of the commune of Nouna, Souleymane Tiono, presided over the delivery ceremony. This initiative, which took place on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, is spearheaded by the NGO CARE.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the collaboration involves provincial authorities, the NGO CARE, and its implementing partner, the Wu Pakuw© farmers’ association. The initiative is funded by the Regional Humanitarian Fund for West and Central Africa (FHRAOC) and is supported by the provincial directorate of agriculture. This effort is part of the “food security and livelihoods component” project.
As part of the initiative, 100 vulnerable households received two fences, a watering can, corner guards to protect their plots of land, and three different crops. An additional 150 households benefited from the provision of three sheep, including two females, along with livestock feed.
“The objective of the NGO CARE is to be in line with the vision of the country’s authorities, who want structural investments to enable beneficiaries to become self-sufficient,” stated Allabome Kambou, head of the Multisectoral and Integrated Response to Humanitarian Needs (REMIBH) project.
Souleymane Tiono, on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the support provided to the households during this challenging period and urged them to make good use of the resources provided.
