Kossi Equips Volunteers with Walkie-Talkies Worth 1,386,000 CFA Francs

NOUNA: The special delegation of the Nouna commune has provided 12 walkie-talkies valued at 1,386,000 CFA francs to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in a bid to enhance their operational capabilities. The delivery took place on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, marking a significant effort to support the local VDPs who play a crucial role in maintaining security and allowing residents to carry on with their daily lives.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event underscores the ongoing commitment of the Nouna commune to bolster the resources available to its defense volunteers. The president of the special delegation, Souleymane Tiono, emphasized the community’s gratitude towards the VDPs and conveyed well-wishes for the upcoming year, highlighting the resilience of Nouna’s population.

Tiono noted that this donation is part of a broader effort to support local security forces, with previous contributions including motorcycles for the VDPs. The town hall has also extended support to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) by providing a complete desktop computer and a block of latrines, with these projects costing 6,300,000 CFA francs.

The president of the special delegation expressed hopes for continued courage and strength among the volunteers as they fulfill their vital mission in service of the community.
