Nouna: The Technological Training and Professional Integration Framework (CFTIP) and Le Colibri Primary School concluded their educational activities this Friday, May 30, 2025, in Nouna. Students presented sketches, ballets, recitals, and pedagogical innovations within the school.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the dual humanitarian and security crisis, marked by mass displacement and school closures, forced some students to abandon classes. The association “Children Equal Hope” responded by welcoming children from various localities to provide them with educational opportunities. Initially, The Hummingbird School functioned as a foster home and later evolved into a private primary school, aiming to offer a secure boarding environment for displaced and out-of-school children.
Le Colibri School has broadened its original mission by integrating the Technological Training and Professional Integration Framework to train resilient, adaptable, and competent young individuals. This initiative aligns with the demands of the twenty-first century by promoting digital literacy from a young age, specifically from the CE2 class. It emphasizes mastering computer tools and leveraging artificial intelligence.
In addition to traditional educational activities, students engage in market gardening and manage a chicken coop, while digital professions are incorporated to prepare them for the evolving world. The CFTIP has successfully merged traditional and digital education, serving as a unique gateway to the future.
According to the director of CFTIP, Georges Kouda, the institution aims to contribute to the country’s development. Displaced students at the center do not pay tuition, as they come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The closing ceremony featured troubleshooting demonstrations, fault identification, and computer component presentations, showcasing students’ skills.
H©sita Dao and Soumala Zerbo, both 3rd-grade students, reported significant improvements in their IT knowledge since joining the center. They are now capable of employing themselves through the mastery of artificial intelligence, creating films, logos, and engaging in commercial marketing.
The closing ceremony included sketches highlighting the plight of internally displaced persons facing food shortages, with themes of computer literacy and local ballets. “The vision of the training framework is to be in step with the evolution of the world,” Mr. Kouda emphasized. The event concluded with a collective prayer for the nation led by Pastor Mamadou Konat©.
