KOSSI: The Catholic community gathered to celebrate the silver jubilee of Father Sébastien Sanou’s pastoral life at Notre-Dame du Péripetuel Secours Cathedral in Nouna.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, featured a thanksgiving mass highlighted by several speeches. Father Sébastien Sanou expressed gratitude, stating, “This day allows us to give thanks to God for having extended his helping hand to Father Sébastien Sanou in his mission in the service of the church and the community.”
The celebration continued with a community meal and cultural entertainment. The presence of administrative and customary authorities, along with other communities, added to the ceremony’s grandeur.
Father Sanou was ordained in 1999 and initially served as vicar general at the parish of Oury from 1999 to 2002. His service continued in Sanaba, Solenzo, and Kouka. After spending five years in France for his studies, he returned to become the parish priest of Notre Dame du Périp
etuel Secours in Nouna until 2020. Currently, he serves as the executive secretary of OCADES Caritas of Nouna.
