Koosin Women’s Coordination Prepares for March 8th with Sanitation Drive


Koosin: The provincial coordination of women of Koosin initiated a sanitation operation on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in Nouna to clean sites designated for International Women’s Day activities scheduled for March 8, 2026.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial women’s coordination committee spearheaded a series of initiatives leading up to International Women’s Day. Among these was a cleanup day aimed at preparing key locations for upcoming events. Armed with pickaxes, rakes, and various tools, volunteers tackled overgrown areas at the women’s center, town hall grounds, and the High Commission courtyard, showcasing the value women place on this significant day.



Within a span of two hours, the designated sites were cleared of plastic debris and weeds. Marie Rose Yelkouni, the coordinator, lauded the dedication of the participants and announced a subsequent meeting to discuss the next steps in their program.



The event saw participation from women of all ages, supported by men, ensuring the successful preparation for their special day. Yelkouni emphasized that the March 8th celebrations would focus on enhancing living conditions and promoting income-generating activities.
