Koosin: Under the aegis of the provincial coordination of citizen watch associations, various social groups in Koosin took to the streets to express their unwavering support for the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore. The march and subsequent meeting were held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, with participants rallying along Ouezzin Coulibaly Avenue to the High Commission Square, chanting slogans like "IB in power, long live the progressive and popular revolution!"
According to Burkina Information Agency, shops in Koosin remained closed for the morning to allow merchants to participate in the demonstration. Delegations from all ten communes of the province were present, showcasing a broad representation of the local population. The city's main thoroughfare was crowded with people holding signs, playing vuvuzelas, and enjoying music dedicated to President Traore.
Adama Dao, the coordinator of the event, addressed the crowd with a message that emphasized Koosin's rejection of foreign interference, which he described as a hallmark of imperialism. Special mention was made of the defense and security forces, along with the volunteers for the defense of the homeland. Dao underscored the province's commitment to supporting the Progressive and Popular Revolution, aiming for social justice and harmonious development.
Dao further remarked that since Captain Ibrahim Traore's rise to power, Burkina Faso has experienced a renewal of sovereignty and dignity, bringing hope to its citizens. He warned conspirators that the people of Burkina Faso are prepared to stand against them and expressed pride in having a young president committed to empowering the youth.
Noufo Dembele, the High Commissioner of Koosin Province, commended the initiative of the march and called upon the youth to support the President's initiatives. He urged the population to prepare for challenges ahead, as President Traore envisions a prosperous future for Burkina Faso. Dembele concluded by encouraging social cohesion and unity among the residents of Koosin, inviting them to sing the victory anthem, the Ditanye.
