Nian: The Nian public primary school organized a cleanup day on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. The school has initiated this cleanup day, held every last Wednesday of the month, to improve sanitation in their living environment and also in certain public spaces in the village.

According to Burkina Information Agency, students and teachers, along with some parents, cleaned up the school grounds, the Health and Social Security Centre (CSPS), and the market. Two individuals from the village offered them horse-drawn carts to rid these common areas of tons of plastic bags.

Harouna TraorE, the principal of the Nian public primary school, stated that the main objective of this initiative is to cultivate in learners a love of civic responsibility through sanitation. He believes the objective will be fully met given their enthusiasm and intends to perpetuate this civic act for the happiness of all.
