Koosin/Nouna High Court Sees Oath Ceremony for New Customs and Land Officials

Ouagadougou: The President of the High Court of Nouna, Moussa Bassan, presided over the solemn swearing-in ceremony this Wednesday, July 1, 2026, of two customs controllers and one municipal land agent.

According to Burkina Information Agency, President Moussa Bassan began the ceremony by reminding those present of the regulations governing the proceedings. He then invited customs controllers Cheick Tidiane Saramb© and Baba Barro, followed by Jean de Dieu Traor©, the new municipal land agent, to take their oaths.

Prosecutor Armel N. Sama congratulated the newly appointed customs officers and advocated for stronger collaboration with the judicial police and the prosecutor's office. He emphasized that such cooperation is essential for effective management of cases that involve offenses against criminal law.

Mr. Sama further highlighted the significance of the oath-taking process, stressing that it is a sacred obligation rather than a mere formality. He remarked, "Taking the oath reveals a sacred value. It is because it has many requirements that there are many strict rules to respect."

He also pointed out the challenges surrounding land access in Burkina Faso, leading to numerous land disputes. In this context, Jean de Dieu Traor©'s role as a land agent is seen as crucial for ensuring accurate land conservation and informing the public about their land rights.
