Koosin: A mission led by Desire Konate, head of the specific support service at the provincial directorate in charge of Secondary Education in Koosin, visited Bomborokuy departmental high school to educate students about the harmful effects of drugs and violence in schools. This initiative is part of the ongoing Civic and Patriotic Education (ECP) program aimed at fostering a healthy school environment conducive to learning.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, gathered the school administration, teachers, and students along with those involved in promoting civic education. The discussions highlighted the serious threats posed by drugs and violence to both academic success and the future of young people.
The speakers at the event encouraged students to adopt responsible behaviors, prioritize dialogue to resolve disputes, and cultivate mutual respect. Oumarou Gnoumou, the censor of Bomborokuy departmental high school, expressed his support for the awareness session, noting its role in enhancing discipline and cohesion within the school.
"We want to raise awareness so that students understand the disadvantages that follow," stated Mr. Gnoumou. A high school student also expressed satisfaction with the initiative, emphasizing its importance in helping students grasp the risks associated with harmful behaviors.
