According to Burkina Information Agency, the "Maracana de la R©silience" tournament, now in its fourth edition, is the brainchild of promoter Issa Dama. This year, the tournament features 24 teams that are divided into six groups of four. The top two teams from each group will progress to the round of 16, after which a direct elimination format will determine the quarter-finalists, semi-finalists, and the finalists who will compete in September 2026.

In a ceremonial prelude to the main event, a gala match was held featuring the former glories of the R©veil Club of Nouna against the city's civil servants' team. This match was a celebration of the community's sporting history, and certificates of merit were awarded to resource persons and former stars who have supported the tournament's initiatives.

Issa Dama emphasized the significance of the "Maracana of Resilience," noting that it has long enjoyed popular support from the community.
