Djibasso: The Early Childhood Development and Preschool Education Centers (CEEP) of Djibasso and the municipality of Madouba organized an educational immersion day aimed at enhancing the skills of early childhood educators. This event, held on January 26, focused on the professional development of educators to ensure the success of preschool education.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the organizers placed significant emphasis on practical training, recognizing that many volunteer teachers at Early Childhood Education and Care Centers (ECECs) transitioned from primary schools and lacked specific training in preschool education. This gap in training can impede children's optimal learning experiences. To address this, a mission from Nouna worked with ECEC directors to bolster their skills in the Integrated Pedagogical Approach (IPA).
The training session was led by Inspectors Karim Sawadogo and Georges Traore, who are provincial heads of preschool education. The primary goal was to equip educators with facilitation techniques tailored to the IPA approach. The workshop aimed specifically at enhancing skills in teaching early math and language activities and encouraged the exchange of experiences among participants regarding successful classroom practices.
The anticipated outcomes of the workshop include the effective acquisition of teaching techniques and methods for early math and language activities, along with the sharing of effective teaching strategies to improve preschool learning. The methodology adopted during the training emphasized a practical approach, involving observation and analysis of educators' performances, followed by discussions of successful teaching experiences.
This pedagogical immersion focused on real-world experience, allowing participants to gain practical tips, techniques, and methods to enhance their educational mission. Through this initiative, the provincial education directorate, in collaboration with early childhood officials of the CEB, reaffirms its commitment to improving the quality of preschool education and fostering the harmonious development of children.
