Koosin: A Garden to Train Students for the Jobs of Tomorrow

Koosin: Teachers and students of the Bonakuy public primary school, in the Dokuy Basic Education District (CEB), mobilized on Friday, January 16, 2026, for the work on their school garden, a pillar of the presidential initiative introducing trades in primary school.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this project aims to ground education in concrete practice, cultivating lasting skills for the future in students. Under the guidance of Fabrice Baye, the head of the Bonakuy public primary school, the teaching team transforms theoretical lessons into field experiences.

"We are behind schedule, but thanks to collective commitment, we will make up for lost time to offer children an enriching education," Baye says optimistically. This garden is not just a green space; it teaches agriculture, resource management and entrepreneurship from primary school onwards, promoting experiential and inclusive learning.

The work is progressing, sowing the seeds of innovative teaching; however, the faulty water pump is hindering vital irrigation, risking compromising these educational advances. Fabrice Baye called for an alternative solution, stating, "A reliable water source is essential to sustain this project and guarantee a concrete future for the students."
