Bam: The special delegation of the municipality of Kongoussi rewarded schools, neighborhoods, and households on Saturday for exemplary hygiene and sanitation, at the end of a municipal week dedicated to the cleanliness of the city as the rainy season approaches. The municipal sanitation week began on Monday, May 4th, aiming to improve the living environment for residents and prevent health risks associated with the rainy season. Several activities were carried out in various parts of the city during this period, including clearing gutters, removing garbage, and cleaning public spaces.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Kongoussi, Abel Dayamba, welcomed the results obtained on the ground. Among the beneficiaries is Ms. Liizeta Ouermi, president of the Association of Widows and Orphans of Bam, who welcomed the municipal initiative. "After the launch, we cleaned the slaughterhouse, the gutters, and the area around the central market. We also held awareness sessions with stakeholders in the field to tackle the challenge of hygiene and sanitation in the municipality together. I am very happy to have received this award," she said.
