Komondjari: A group of gold miners from the province of Komondjari, residing in Burkina Faso and neighboring countries, has made a significant contribution to national support efforts. They handed over a donation of 1.6 million FCFA in Gay©ri, aimed at bolstering the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP) and aiding the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the group's spokesperson, Ahadi dit Hampouguini Souobou, stated that the funds were collected from gold miners from Komondjari living both within Burkina Faso and in countries such as Senegal, Mali, Niger, and Ghana. The donation comprises 1.3 million FCFA designated for the Patriotic Support Fund, with the remaining 300,000 FCFA allocated as a fuel contribution for the VDP in Komondjari.
Ahadi emphasized that this gesture underscores the commitment of Komondjari's people to support efforts to reclaim territory and restore peace in Burkina Faso. He expressed hope for the return of peace and urged God's protection over the country's fighting forces. He also called on the people of Komondjari to participate in the national movement supporting state actions.
High Commissioner Valentin Gnanou praised the miners' gesture, highlighting its reinforcement of ongoing efforts by the authorities to support the fighting forces. He noted that the Patriotic Support Fund, established by the Head of State, benefits significantly from such contributions and encouraged other social groups to contribute similarly. The High Commissioner also pointed out that the fuel contribution will further aid VDP operations in the province.
