Kombissiri’s ‘Manegba Schools’ Honors Top Students in Annual Ceremony

KOMBISSIRI—The ‘Manegba Schools’ in Kombissiri held its annual ceremony on Friday, May 31, 2024, to close out the year’s educational, sporting, and cultural activities. The event recognized the achievements of students across various disciplines, including academics, sports, and cultural competitions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the general administrator of ‘Manegba Schools’, the ceremony is a tradition to celebrate the accomplishments of students from primary through secondary levels and to acknowledge the efforts of the management team. Awards included prizes for academic excellence, with the top students in each class receiving special recognition. Sporting achievements were highlighted with awards in football and handball through the Founder’s Cup. Cultural accolades were given for performances in traditional and modern competitions, public speaking, and games.

The ceremony also showcased the school’s success in provincial and national contests, such as the ‘School Arts Prize’ festival and the USSU-BF competitions. To further encourage academic improvement, special prizes were awarded to students who had increased their academic averages by at least two points and to the top five female students.

Prizes for the various categories included school kits and monetary awards. Certificates were also presented to select supervisors and partners of the school, recognizing their contributions to the school’s programs.

Established in 2016, the ‘Manegba Schools’ complex serves over 420 students across its preschool, primary, post-primary, and secondary levels.
