Kombissiri Town Hall Initiates Major Digitization of Over 200,000 Civil Documents

KOMBISSIRI — A significant digitization initiative was launched at the Kombissiri town hall on July 9, 2024, aimed at securing and preserving more than 200,000 civil status documents in the commune of Kombissiri, Bazèga Province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Secretary General of Bazèga Province, the event marks a crucial step towards improving document preservation within the civil status system, which has historically faced numerous challenges, including poor record conservation. The digitization project is intended to safeguard these vital records, ensuring their longevity and accessibility.

The initiative is particularly important given the role that civil status documents play in recording significant life events and producing vital statistics.
