K©n©dougou Students Encouraged to Embrace Civic Values in New Education Initiative

K©n©dougou: The High Commissioner of the K©n©dougou province, Sadou Sakira, recently addressed students at S©riba Traor© Municipal High School in Orodara, urging them to embrace order, discipline, and civic values as part of a new civic and patriotic training program. This initiative, launched on January 13, 2026, is aimed at fostering responsible behavior among students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the program involves 15 secondary schools in K©n©dougou, comprising 13 public and two private institutions. It targets students in grades 9, 10, and 11, reaching a total of 4,149 learners. The training is structured into two phases: theoretical and practical.

Sadou Sakira has praised the initiative, recognizing it as beneficial and promising for the education system. He emphasized the importance of the program in shaping students as future leaders who will contribute to a peaceful and progressive society.

Lassina Coulibaly, the provincial director of secondary education in K©n©dougou, highlighted that the program addresses essential social and educational needs. It aims to tackle challenges such as the decline in discipline, misinformation, and the erosion of traditional values, while promoting a sense of the common good over rising individualism.
