K©n©dougou: Over 1,000 Plants Planted to Restore Women’s Market Garden Sites

K©n©dougou: The Special Delegation of the municipality of Samogohiri undertook a reforestation operation that resulted in the planting of over 1,000 plants on the women's market garden sites in the villages of Lougoua, Saraba, and Todj©. This effort aims to restore the banks and combat environmental degradation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative, led by Pascal Bouda, President of the Special Delegation, is part of broader efforts to conserve natural resources and address deforestation in the region. The operation specifically aims to enhance the vegetation cover around the market garden areas managed by women, protect the banks from erosion, and improve agricultural production conditions sustainably.

The planting ceremony commenced at the Lougoua market garden site and continued through the villages of Saraba and Todj©. Participants included women beneficiaries, local authorities, and community development stakeholders, all contributing to the reforestation effort.

During the event, President Bouda expressed gratitude to everyone involved, stating, "This is an opportunity for us to express our sincere thanks to all those who mobilized for the success of this reforestation day." The women beneficiaries appreciated the initiative as a significant step toward preserving their production sites. Bouda also encouraged the women to actively maintain and protect the seedlings to ensure their growth and the overall success of the project.
