K©n©dougou Cultural Heritage Month Highlights Traditional Values Through Tourist Excursion

K©n©dougou: The High Commission of Orodara, in collaboration with the provincial directorate in charge of Culture of K©n©dougou, recently organized a tourist excursion as part of the third edition of the Cultural Heritage Month. The excursion took place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, and included visits to significant cultural sites in Orodara such as the tomb of the first canton chief, Orodara Sidiki, and the deity T´toye.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the excursion was designed to raise awareness of the province's tourist sites, which have largely remained obscured from public knowledge. The provincial director in charge of Culture, Adoul Kader Issiaka Konvolbo, emphasized that the activity aimed to bring attention to the history of the S¨me community and stressed its importance in preserving cultural heritage.

High Commissioner of the province, Sadou Sakira, praised the initiative and the involvement of various stakeholders. He encouraged the population to engage more deeply with traditional values and heritage, underscoring the importance of cultural connection within the community.

The event saw significant participation, particularly from schoolchildren, who were guided by the Orodara High Commission, highlighting the educational aspect of the excursion.
