Kisii Court Detains Man for Allegedly Murdering Brother’s Family

Kisii, Kenya – In a recent court hearing, a Kisii court has ordered the detention of Alex Migosi, a 27-year-old man accused of murdering his brother’s wife and two children. The suspect will be held at Rioma Police Station for ten days to allow for the completion of investigations into the case.

According to Kenya News Agency, the decision to detain the suspect is to enable the investigation officer to thoroughly probe the case. She assured that this detention order would not prejudice the suspect, considering he had surrendered himself to the police.

Prosecutor Job Akello had requested the court for additional time to conduct a mental assessment of the accused and a post-mortem examination of the deceased. The court also acknowledged concerns for the suspect’s safety at home due to the nature of the crime committed.

The incident reportedly occurred in Marani Sub County, Kisii County, where Migosi allegedly had an argument with his elder brother, Patrick Omuga, before committing the crime. Migosi fled the scene after the act but later turned himself in to the police.
