Khomas Regional Council Supports Samora Machel Constituency SME Owners

Windhoek: The Khomas Regional Council recently delivered business products and essential goods to small and medium enterprise (SME) owners and residents of the Samora Machel Constituency in Windhoek. This initiative focused on providing operational equipment to enhance the business activities of local residents involved in ventures such as car washes and restaurants.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the handover was regarded as a pivotal development step by Constituency Councillor Nestor Kalola, who labeled the initiative a significant investment in the community’s progress. ‘This event marks a significant investment by the government in the well-being of our community,’ Kalola stated during the ceremony.

In addition to business products, the council also distributed blankets to pensioners and school shoes to 139 learners from nine schools within the constituency. The total value of the donations amounted to N.dollars 377,000.

Among the beneficiaries, Claudia Isaacks, an unemployed resident operating a home-based laundry business, received an automatic washing machine. Isaacks expressed that the machine would expedite her washing process, enabling her customers to collect their items on the same day.

Ndilimeke Viliho, a pensioner with a small catering business, was given 20kg of beef. She noted to Nampa that the donation would enhance her business operations, which she began to support her children and grandchildren.

Hosea Sheimi, involved in manufacturing and assembling aluminum, received tools. He mentioned that the donation would significantly aid his business, as he previously had to borrow or rent tools, which incurred additional costs.

The event concluded with the councillor encouraging all recipients to make effective use of the donated products for their intended purposes.
