Key Players Withdraw from Burkina Faso Squad Ahead of Senegal Clash.

Elim/CAN2025: The Etalons group has recorded six forfeits including Bertrand Traoré, Hervé Koffi, Dango Ouattara, Gustavo Sangaré, Mohamed Konaté and Kader Ouattara, before the West African derby between Burkina Faso and Senegal on November 14, counting for the 5th day of the CAN 2025 qualifiers in group L, the Burkinabe Football Federation (FBF) announced on Monday. According to Burkina Information Agency, the withdrawals are due to injuries sustained by the players at their respective clubs, though the FBF has not specified the exact nature or duration of these injuries. The list of replacements for the withdrawn players has been announced. EFO goalkeeper Philippe La Paix Maré will step in for Hervé Koffi, while Régis N'Dos is set to replace Bertrand Traoré. Ridouane Maïga from AS Douanes will cover for Gustavo Sangaré. In offensive positions, Clément Pitroipa, also from AS Douanes, will replace Mohamed Konaté, and Blakiss Ouattara of EFO will assist in place of Abdoul Kader Ouattara. The Stallions are currently stationed in Bamako, Mali, for a training camp leading up to the crucial match on November 14. Following this pivotal Group L encounter, the Burkinabe team will travel to Malawi, where they will face the Flames in the final match of the qualifiers, without the presence of the injured players.
