Kenedougou: The Banzon Basic Education District (CEB) concluded its Civics and Citizenship Week activities on Friday, April 17, 2026. This initiative, led by the Office for the Promotion of Inclusive Education, Girls' Empowerment, Gender Equality, and Citizenship (BPEIPFGC), was presided over by the head of the office, Yacouba Konate, Inspector of Primary and Non-Formal Education.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was sponsored by Salif Kabre, the commissioner of the Banzon National Police District, and patronized by Sie Poda, the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune of Banzon. The week concluded with a ceremony that began with a flag-raising event, featuring a performance of the national anthem in the Dioula language by students from Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic primary school.
One of the notable events was the announcement of the results of a competition for the cleanest school in the municipality. The Banzon "C" public primary school secured the first position, while Banzon "E" and Sinfara schools shared the second spot. The winning schools were awarded kits of cleaning products.
In a move to support inclusive education, 10 students with disabilities received donations. An assessment focused on citizenship recognized outstanding students in the municipality.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a new flag to each school within the municipality, marking the end of the week-long activities dedicated to fostering civic responsibility and citizenship among students.
