Kenedougou High Schools and Colleges Unite for National Flag-Raising and Solidarity Campaign

Kenedougou: The national flag-raising ceremony and the launch of the national solidarity campaign "Deme Sira" took place this Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Diongolo Traore Provincial High School in Orodara, in the presence of the High Commissioner of the Kenedougou Province, Saidou Sakira. The event featured the national anthem, a solemn flag-raising, and speeches focusing on civic engagement and national solidarity.

According to Burkina Information Agency, following the flag-raising ceremony, the "Deme Sira" campaign was launched with a voluntary fundraising effort by the school administration, teachers, and students of the Diongolo Traore Provincial High School. They collectively raised 85,310 CFA francs, demonstrating a spirit of generosity and collective responsibility.

The High Commissioner of Kenedougou Province, Saidou Sakira, reiterated the objectives of the "Deme Sira" campaign, emphasizing its focus on promoting the values of solidarity, mutual support, and sharing, which are central to Burkinabe communities. The initiative aims to strengthen social cohesion and provide support to those in need, while instilling a sense of civic duty and responsibility in younger generations.

This ceremony marks the beginning of a solidarity mobilization within the secondary schools of Kenedougou Province.
