KCAA Emerges The Best In Swimming Category

Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) emerged the best overall team in swimming category at the ongoing Kenya Communication Sports Organisation (KECOSO) games in Narok at Ole Ntimama Stadium. The KECOSO games have attracted a number of both indoor and outdoor categories, where KCAA posted impressive performances. The KCAA’s performance included the best overall team; the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) became the first runners-up, while the Communications Authority (CA) became the second runners-up. The best male swimmer was Adrian Ng’weno from CA, clocking 24:52 seconds; Ricky Ogada from KCAA became first runners-up, clocking 24.88 seconds; and Evans Ojwado from KAA clocked 25.87 seconds, becoming the second runners-up. The best female swimmer, Olive Njuguna from KCAA, clocked a 35.69-second time; Melvin Ambuchi from the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts (36.45 seconds) became the first runner-up; and the second runner-up went to Francine Ogola from KCAA (37:70 seconds). At the same time, KECOSO Secretary General Omole Asiko has commended Kenya Maritime Authority for having been at the helm of the organisation’s leadership for the last 2 years. Asiko added that the KECOSO Games offer an opportunity for state organisations to come together, interact and foster meaningful relationships. He also said these games amplified the significance of promoting physical fitness, discipline and the valuable life lessons that sports impart. ‘Beyond the exhilaration of competition, we are dedicated to the cultivation of talents that lie within us all,’ he said. The secretary general said the stage for 2023 KECOSO games offered an opportunity for participants of all categories to showcase their mettle and compete favourably.
