Kaya Imam Urges Community to Embrace Tolerance and Forgiveness During Eid Al-Fitr

Kaya: The Muslim community of Kaya celebrated Eid Al-Fitr on Monday at the Nation Square in Kaya, in the presence of administrative authorities and sister communities. After 30 days of penance and prayer, Muslims in the city known for leather and kebabs marked Eid al-Fitr on April 1, 2025, in various locations across the city. The main prayer at Place de la Nation was led by El Hadj Abdoul Samad Ou©draogo, the city’s Grand Imam.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in his sermon, the Grand Imam urged the Muslim faithful to embrace tolerance, mutual forgiveness, and acceptance of other religious figures to foster peace. He emphasized that brotherhood, mutual aid, and genuine forgiveness are essential elements for social cohesion among individuals and communities.

Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ou©draogo, who headed a delegation of administrative, religious, and customary authorities, conveyed hopes that the blessings of the Ramadan season would lead to the fulfillment of the Muslim community’s prayers for peace and happiness in the North-Central region and throughout Burkina Faso.

The significant gathering at Place de la Nation concluded with prayers for blessings, paving the way for family celebrations to commence.
