Kaurivi Vying to Rule Otjombinde Constituency Again

Gobabis: Independent Patriot for Change (IPC) candidate Chester Katjanaa Kaurivi expressed his commitment to continue developing the Omaheke region's Otjombinde constituency if re-elected in the upcoming regional council elections on November 26. Kaurivi, who made history in 2015 as the first independent candidate to lead the Otjombinde constituency, has outlined his plans for further development.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Kaurivi, during an interview, emphasized his accomplishments during his tenure, which included constructing auction kraals and refilling gravel roads. He highlighted his efforts against stock theft and mentioned his role in empowering forgotten traditional authorities and enhancing police work in the area. Kaurivi stated his dedication to serving the constituency with integrity if given another opportunity as an IPC candidate.

Kaurivi also pointed out his role in bringing government development projects to Otjombinde, focusing on significant contributions to the education sector. Looking ahead, he plans to prioritize establishing essential infrastructure, including a clinic, police station, filling station, network towers, and auction kraals at Helena settlement. Additional plans include creating a conservancy office at Okatumba Gate, a sports field at Eiseb 10, and constructing a graveyard and auction pens at the Eiseb 10 settlement.

He acknowledged the need for continued development and expressed his intention to collaborate with community leaders, farmers' associations, and churches. Kaurivi emphasized his open-door policy and belief in sharing ideas for the constituency's benefit.
