Kapenguria, West Pokot County – The Kapenguria Law Courts have launched a focused initiative, termed the Children’s Service Month, aimed at expediting the finalization of cases involving violations of children’s rights. This initiative is part of a broader effort to protect the welfare of children within the legal system.

According to Kenya News Agency, speaking at the launch during an awareness walk in Kapenguria Town, the courts will use this month to clear the backlog of cases involving children. Justice Murima emphasized the urgency and importance of addressing these cases and called upon all stakeholders involved in children’s matters to assist the court in administering justice. He specifically urged investigating officers handling children’s cases to document all necessary evidence efficiently, ensuring that justice is served promptly within the month.

The judge’s statement highlighted the need for swift and effective legal processes, especially in matters concerning children’s rights. He appealed to those with relevant evidence to produce it expeditiously to facilitate smooth hearings. The Children’s Service Month represents a proactive approach by the judiciary to address and prioritize the resolution of cases impacting the rights and well-being of children in West Pokot County.
