Ouagadougou: The municipality of Kampti hosted the first monthly flag-raising ceremony of the year on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the town hall. This solemn ceremony underscored the renewed commitment of local authorities and community leaders to the symbols of the State and republican ideals.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was attended by directors and heads of decentralized, deconcentrated, and similar technical services, military and paramilitary authorities, traditional and religious leaders, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations, projects, and development programs operating in the municipality.
Following the solemn playing of the national anthem and the raising of the flag, Mr. Massahiba Aim Soulama, Prefect and President of the Special Delegation of Kampti, delivered his address to the assembly. In his speech, the Prefect first extended his fraternal greetings to all participants before expressing his gratitude for their active participation, a symbol of their patriotic commitment and strong sense of civic duty.
Continuing his remarks, Mr. Soulama read and presented the message to the Nation from His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traor, President of Burkina Faso and Head of State. This message highlighted the major achievements recorded during 2025, particularly in the security, health, education, and socioeconomic development sectors, while also outlining the strategic prospects and directions for 2026, a year dedicated to resilience, national sovereignty, and shared progress.
At the municipal level, the President of the Special Delegation commended the efforts of all development stakeholders, whose commitment and collaborative efforts led to satisfactory results over the past year. He also called upon all active members of the community to fully and responsibly embrace the ideals of the progressive and popular revolution, the foundation of a united, sovereign, and prosperous Burkina Faso.
In conclusion, Mr. Massahiba Aim Soulama extended his best wishes for health, peace, prosperity, and social cohesion to the participants and all the residents of the Kampti municipality for the new year. He recalled that the raising and lowering of the national colors in public administrations are established in accordance with the interministerial circular n°2018-729/MJDUPC/MFPTS of July 2, 2018.
The ceremony ended in an atmosphere of patriotic fervor and social unity, around the national motto: "Homeland or Death, we will prevail!"
