Ngong – Residents of Kajiado North sub-county recently participated in a public forum in Ngong town concerning the upcoming sewerage system project. The project, overseen by the Tana Athi Water Services Board, is currently in the design stage, with the forum allowing residents to express their opinions ahead of implementation.
According to Kenya News Agency, an urban planner involved in the project, the design stage is expected to last two years, with public feedback influencing the final design. President William Ruto, during a 2022 visit to the area, promised the construction of a sewerage system in Ongata Rongai, Kiserian, and Ngong towns, acknowledging the longstanding issues of water shortage and inadequate waste disposal facilities. The proposed sewer system aims to improve hygiene and living conditions in these satellite towns of Kajiado North Sub County.
