Kais Saied meets Prime Minister

President Kais Saied looked at the agenda of the next Cabinet meeting and the general situation of the country, as he met Prime Minister Najla Bouden on Monday at the Carthage Palace.

Saied was quoted by a Presidency statement as saying it is now everyone’s sacred duty to scrupulously preserve the institutions of the State, provided they operate in accordance with the law.

In this regard, President Said warned against “the sneaking of some (without naming them) to jeopardise the proper functioning of these institutions, and criticised the behaviour of some other officials (without naming them) who willingly refrain from carrying out their duties with all the required neutrality.

The President of the Republic also took the opportunity to discuss with the Prime Minister the socio-economic conditions of the citizens, according to the same statement.

In this context, the Head of State stressed the need to ensure that their legitimate demands for a decent life are met. «That decent life could be achieved only on the basis of social justice,» he said.
