Kadiogo: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Tanghin-Dassouri, Rabiata Sawadogo, on Thursday, July 9, 2026, visited several infrastructures completed or under construction in the commune, announcing that nearly 700 million FCFA were invested in 2025 in sectors such as agriculture, health, roads, water, public lighting, and social actions.
According to Burkina Information Agency, accompanied by a large municipal delegation, Rabiata Sawadogo conducted a tour to monitor municipal achievements in several villages of the municipality to observe the state of execution of investments undertaken for the benefit of the populations.
The delegation began its visit in Nabakoutou, where it inspected a culvert built to improve the mobility of the local population. The village chief, Naaba Koutou, noted that this structure resolves access difficulties experienced during the rainy season.
The tour continued in Goghin with a visit to a developed rice-growing lowland and a high-capacity borehole designed to boost agricultural production. Pastor Didier Ilboudo, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, highlighted that these infrastructures will contribute to increasing rice production, even during the dry season, and strengthening food security.
The delegation then visited the Tanghin-Dassouri Medical Center to observe the progress of the operating theater construction. Ms. Sawadogo mentioned that this infrastructure will eventually allow for surgical procedures, including cesarean sections, to be performed locally, thus preventing patients from having to travel to Ouagadougou.
The visit concluded in Gueswend©, where the municipal authorities assessed the rehabilitation and dredging work on the dam, a structure intended to support agricultural activities and other income-generating activities.
At the end of the tour, the PDS indicated that these investments reflect the municipality's desire to meet the priority needs of the population while supporting national development guidelines. Ms. Sawadogo stated, "We have registered several projects for the benefit of the people. The crossing structures are now contributing to opening up our villages, while the development of lowlands is helping to strengthen agricultural production and food sovereignty."
Ms. Sawadogo also reaffirmed the municipality's commitment to supporting agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) by providing arable land to promote their productive integration.
Taking stock of the investments, she specified that the achievements of the year 2025 represent a total amount of approximately 700 million FCFA. These investments notably cover the development of lowlands in Goghin and Z©kounga, the rehabilitation of the Gueswend© dam, the construction of the maternity ward in Baloll©, the acquisition of medical-technical equipment for several CSPS, the construction of culverts, the reprofiling of roads, the installation of solar public lighting, the training of about one hundred young people in driving licenses, the electrification of examination centers, and assistance to vulnerable people through food distributions.
Expressing her satisfaction with the progress of the projects, the President of the Special Delegation expressed her wish to see the work completed on schedule so that the infrastructure could be quickly put into service to the people and contribute to improving their living conditions.
